I really want to get full sizes of the Minimalist foundation from Lauress but when I tried checking out today for 3 FS jars, the shipping fee was $23 !!!!

WTF????

I made a new ghost cart and just put in 4 samples and the shipping was still $23 !!!

I emailed them a few minutes ago and hope they reply right away. A few weeks ago the shipping for the 5 samples I ordered was only less than $2 --- that's a $21 difference from a few weeks ago to today and that is really unreasonable.

Edit to add:

Chris of Lauress replied to my email and said that there was a glitch in the shipping choices. Their web techs are working on it right now but it is still not yet fixed.

I've been having issues with that with Lure Beauty too. But it looks like USPS increased their shipping charges and the system went wonk because of it. First Class International no longer shows up so the lowest option becomes Priority mail which is often 10 times more expensive =\

Carina at Everyday Minerals has noted it and so has Lure Beauty so I'm sure Lauress will get around to figuring it out too^^;;

It's happening to a lot of online stores that ship international so it's not Lauress. I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon.

Seraphim is right, I heard it from Carina from EDM and she said it's not just her company.

First-class shipping (the cheaper option) can only be used for packages under 13 oz. and this applies to domestic mail too. That being said, two other people posted about being charged really high international shipping ($23 was a number quoted) on the Lauress forum so hopefully it's a glitch in the shopping cart system.

EDM managed to fix their shipping quote problem so I am pretty sure the other companies will fix theirs soon. EDM's shipping for a sample kit is now $4.40 instead of $5.95!

The rates just went up this week- I think it went into effect May 12- so I am sure everything is going to be crazy with shipping rates until they figure things out. At my local Post Office they still were trying to figure out the last rate hike stuff since it went from being just weight to dimensions and weight affecting the pricing. Hate another increase but understand with gas prices like they are- everything is going up because of them. Food has been affected in multiple ways just from gas- you have the fuel costs of the farming (for meat/eggs/milk it's the cost of farming fuel to feed the animals) plus shipping fuel prices and the added influence of corn prices being out of control because they use it for ethanol. I could go on a tirade about this because it's an inefficient source to make "gas" but because they ARE using it for this purpose now all food is more costly because corn was a cheap source for animal feed. It even affects things like beer prices which don't have corn but because corn prices are so high, farmers are planting corn rather than other crops like hops that is used in beer- so now that is going to cost more.
I bet you didn't expect this post to be a response like this... got a little off track LOL. Anyway, the shipping prices just changed and I am sure it will be a nightmare for international shipping. It may be cheaper to do multiple/lighter orders if it really only allows 13 oz. even for domestic packages!

Thanks for that Dayna! I didn't know about that corn stuff nor did I think about cost of farming...I knew the cost of food was going up but I always assumed that only had to do with transport...makes more sense now!

I guess this will help me in those no-buy ban periods...it will either help or make it worse because I might order more to make shipping more "worth" it by dividing number of products by the shipping cost xD

Sorry, I was quoting Lauren from the forum post about the 13 oz limit for international first class shipping and didn't check the USPS website to verify. Bad! According to the USPS website the limit is 5 lbs for international first class shipping, and your order should be well under this limit. Hopefully Lauren will work this out soon so that you can order, but if you need a CP let me know.

(But I did verify myself that domestic first class mail has a weight limit of 13 oz, so I'm not completely full of BS :)

My hubby informed me of the added costs for things like beer/animal products because of corn prices. I guess it hits home when it's things like beer being affected. LOL.
It's crazy how one thing can spiral out of control.

I saw the post on the Lure website and I do hope it is a glitch and that we can order soon.

That is very enlightening Dayna, thanks! Everything is going up and we all have to tighten our purses. We do notice how expensive everything is with each of our own "likes" - beer for your hubby, mmu to us.

hope it would fix soon, otherwise we can't get any mmu from US X( surprising, shipping fee for EDM sample kit changes even cheaper, LOL!! I paid mine for $5.95 about 2weeks ago.(and stil not receive yet X( )

Yeah, seems like everything is going up except personal incomes. Actually for hubby it's not so much beer but bourbon- which is corn derived. LOL I know when gas first went up I was more concerned about the cost of a gallon of milk because I use more of that.
I know the prices of MMU ingredients have gone up, then add in shipping... that's no fun! We need our fix of colors right? LOL

Hi Sim! Chris said their shipping prices are the same and they'e still working on the website to fix the shipping options. They're putting back the first class international which is cheaper. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon so we can all get our full sizes.
